What is the repository?
The Filmoteca has created a repository of digital documents that includes photos, posters, magazines, personal collections, digital books and more. Its purpose is to collect, disseminate and preserve digital film heritage.
A repository is a tool (software and server) for storing and conserving digital objects (such as images, text documents and audiovisuals) and making them accessible via a website. It incorporates tools for indexing and describing the contents (metadata) and enables these contents to be viewed from many other websites.
Our repository provides access to a part of our graphic collection (photos, posters, stickers, etc.), the heritage archives, such as those of Adrià Gual, Domènec Ceret and Juan Alberto Soler, among others, to digital magazine collections such as Arte y Cinematografía, Popular Film and El cine and the film press archive, with reviews, reports and pressbooks. The repository will continue to grow as the Filmoteca’s collection is digitalised.
